I have been beta testing ActionPad for BB from S4BB Limited for several months now.
ActionPad is an upgraded version of the native BB Memo Pad. As you know the native memo Pad is extremely limited and basic.
ActionPad brings a much more aesthetically pleasing view to the table as well as several levels of increased functionality.
Among the many additional features ActionPad brings to the table are:
Customizable Font Size
Foreign Language Support
Ability to "Send To ActionPad" RIM sources such as Address Book, Browser, Calendar, Messages (EMail, PIN, SMS, MMS), BlackBerry® Tasks
Ability to add Date and Time Stamp to Memos
Auto Save while working
Auto Numbering
Encryption
My first concern with this app was the duplication of applications and use of memory. The native BB Memo pad is required to be installed on your BlackBerry for ActionPad to run. However, at roughly .11 MB the memory sacrifice is really marginal.

One of my favorite features of this app is the menu buttons. Once you open the app you can create a new Memo simply by scrolling to the "NEW" menu button. I have concluded that aside from the aesthetic value, ActionPad by S4BB Limited really does provide a lot of features and functionality that a premiere smart phone like Blackberry should already include.
It appears that ActionPad is fixing to go public and indications are that S4BB is trying to gauge the pricing of this app.
Personally, I have really gotten to like this app. It is clean, attractive and packed with features. Once released, I am really hoping they keep the price in the $2 to $5 dollar range.
Paying anything more than that, for some of my already valuable BB memory, may just make this very functional and much wanted app, a fond memory.
