Moreover, BlackBerry is more vulnerable when it comes to Memory Leaking as it Java based smartphone and that is the reason why we need to know Memory Management with BlackBerry smartphone. In other words, BlackBerry smartphone need to done some task with memory cleaning, remove temporary files, remove samples files (pictures/videos/audios/ringtones etc.), uninstalled unwanted programs/applications. So here I am giving you some tips regarding Memory Management that divided in two parts 1) Memory Cleaning by inbuilt functions and 2) 3rd Party Memory Management Applications on BlackBerry Smartphone based on my personal user experience and research that includes some inbuilt function you have to performed within a device and the other way you can do with some dedicated 3rd party applications that build for Memory Cleaning/Management.
Part-1
Memory Cleaning
There is an inbuilt function in BlackBerry Smartphone called “Memory Cleaning” that performs all the functions like:
• Address book cache
• certificate search
• certificate status manager
• clipboard
• content protection cache
• key store
• pgp key search
That means it can overwrite memoryperiodically run the memory cleaning application, which causes applications to empty any caches, free memory, and automatically overwrite the freed memory. Here I am giving you step by step instructions how to do it.

1). From the Home Screen, go to the Option.

Deleting Sample Files and Unwanted Applications/Programs/Data

• It’s another great way to save on board memory on BlackBerry device by deleting the sample files like pictures, ringtones, videos, music track etc. for that from your home screen menu go to the media folder and delete all unwanted pictures, music track, ringtones, video files. (Note. Always use Media/Memory card to save all these media files and never store any media files on device memory)
• To delete all the old items or contents from your device like 1. Contacts- You just met the person only once somewhere and you have note down the number that is still in your address book but you don’t remember the person or you never contacted and you don’t need it anymore.(Note. Incase if you need in future just keep in backup on your computer or in your email address book)
• You can save a lot memory by deleting the unnecessary email/messages from your inbox.) On the Home screen, open Messagesand select Options menu then Select general Options now Set the Keep Messages field to either 15 Days or 30 Days.(Note. preferable to set it for 15 days if you have regular access of your email account via computer).
• To make certain type of changes in Calendar application does make difference on BlackBerry smartphone. For that follow these instructions: Open the Calendar from home screen menu and then select Options now Select General Options and Set the Keep Appointments field to either 15 Days or 30 Days.
• Trying new themes is really cool but most of the time it happens that once you use one theme you will forget the old theme and you won’t use it again so by removing unwanted themes, you can save plenty of memory and for that you need to go to Options from home screen, open advance options and select applications. Now here you can uninstalled/delete all the themes or program that you have already installed but you are not using. (Note. For OS 5.0 and later there is a separate option “Applications” directly in main Option menu that means you don’t need to go inside Advance Options)
• Most important and effective way to do memory optimization on BlackBerry smartphones is to do resetting/restarting the phone and for that You need to press 3 keys together at a same time(Alt+Right Caps Lock+Del)
